About Me

Well HELLO, there!

My name is Abby and I'm originally from North East Pennsylvania. I attended middle school and high school in Potomac, Maryland, 20 minutes outside Washington, DC. I am half Jamaican and I have a deadly obsession with the color orange.

I love music and I play the piano, saxophone, a little guitar, and I sing. I am considering double majoring in film and creative writing...We'll see how that goes!

I love to travel, although I haven't been many places. I would eventually like to visit Cairo, Egypt or Sydney, Australia. Both cities are beautiful places and have a ton of history behind them. As a part of my fascination with Egypt, I hope to learn some hieroglyphics in the near future!

I love great films. That means, a film with a brain and meaning behind it. I am a huge fan of director Christopher Nolan. I think he is an absolute genius. I appreciate that he takes a realistic approach to filmmaking by creating interesting and humane characters and scenarios.

The Boston Celtics have been my favorite sports team since I was a tot. I'm not into football (sorry Penn State).

If I had to choose the greatest among all superheroes, I'd go with Batman. It takes a real superhero to do good without superpowers. It could be any one of us.

I love great stories and  hope to bring to life some of my own one day.
Some of my favorite books are:
  • Unwind (trilogy) by Neal Shusterman
  • Nancy & Plum by Betty McDonald
  • Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
  • The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
  • Prism by Faye & Aliza Kellerman
  • Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
  • The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
  •  The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis

  1. Well hello there! Abby, it’s so much fun reading everybody’s blog because I always find something that I have in common with them! I’ve found I have a lot in common with you. I play instruments as well, am considering majoring in film, lovelovelovelove to travel, love Christopher Nolan’s work (specifically the Batman films), am a fan of the Celtics, and the Harry Potter series is definitely on my favorite books list. Whew. Okay well then, so just to clarify, you have great taste in just about everything! I would love to go to Cairo and Sydney someday and The Perks of Being a Wallflower are on my To-Read list on Goodreads. Everybody has given it such great reviews, I think it's about time I give it a try. Anyway, this was a fun post and I liked the pictures!

    1. Thanks for the comment, Zoe! I had no idea we had so much in common! I love the feedback. I definitely recommend The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I have not seen the movie, but the book will change your life. Right now is the best time to read it since we've just finished high school. It really puts life into perspective.
